Create a Custom Print Template

IMPORTANT: Creating a custom print template requires expertise in HTML. Lack of conformity or errors in the template might result in the template displaying improperly or not displaying at all.

Note:   The terms elements, tags, and fields are used interchangeably in these instructions.

Custom print templates are XHTML documents containing custom Corrigo printmerge elements (tags). A list of these elements is available from the Print Templates screen in the application.

You have two options for creating a new template:

View Valid Tags for Custom Print Templates

To view the list of valid tags for custom print templates, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Work Orders > Settings > Print Templates.

The Print Templates screen opens.

  1. Click the Show Fields button.  

A preview window opens, displaying all valid tag names that are available.

Modify an Existing Template

To create a custom template from an existing template, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Work Orders > Settings > Print Templates.

The Print Templates screen opens.

  1. Single-click to select the existing template in the Print Template list that you want to base the new template on.  This list includes the default templates and any other templates that have been added.
  2. Click the Download Template button, then click the Save button in the File Download screen that pops up.
  3. Navigate to the place where you want to store the file, give it a unique name, and click Save.
  4. Open the saved template in an editor such as an HTML editor or Notepad.
  5. Make your changes to the content, then save and close the file.
  6. Add the renamed and edited template as a new template.
Create a Custom Template from Scratch

To create a custom template from scratch, complete the following steps:

  1. Use an HTML editor to create a new, conforming XHTML template.
  2. Add the new template to the system.
