Add Assets to an Inventory

The highest level of asset in your asset hierarchy is the Work Zone. In CorrigoNet, you must first set up the work zone itself as an asset before you can start adding other assets to it.  For this example, if you set up a commercial building as a work zone asset, it could contain the following assets within it:

Use the following two procedures to establish inventory from which you can create templates to use when adding inventory to other work zones.

Add Assets to a Property's Inventory

To add an asset model to a property's inventory, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Assets > Asset Builder.
  2. The Asset Details screen appears. Show me
  4. In the Items column, double-click the name of the work zone under which the property is located.
  5. Continue to double-click in the Items column until you reach the hierarchy level at which you want to add the asset model.
  6. Click the Models button in the top-right corner of the screen.  
  7. Note: If you have already created asset templates, you can click Templates to add templates to your inventory.
  8. The Model Browser opens.
  9. Enter a search term in the Search field, then click the Search button to see the results on the right side of the screen. Show me
  11. Click the name of the asset model you want to add to the inventory.
  12. Click the Add Model to Inventory button.  
  13. The Model Browser screen closes and the Asset Details screen refreshes to display the asset model you selected in Step 6. Show me
Add Assets to a Work Zone

You can add assets to a work zone at every level, so that if you had a building, for example, you could add assets to the building, and then to each floor within the building, and then to each company on each floor, and then to each office within each company, and so on. To add assets to a work zone, complete the following steps:

Note: This procedure assumes you have already added assets to a property's inventory.

  1. Go to Assets > Asset Builder.
  2. The Asset Details screen appears.
  3. In the Items column, double-click the work zone that you want to add assets to.
  4. Click the Models button.  
  5. The Model Browser screen opens.
  6. In the Search field, enter at least part of the name of the asset you want to add to the work zone, then click Search.
  7. Select the asset model that you want to add.
  8. Click the Add Model to Inventory button.
  9. The Asset Details screen reappears with your asset model appearing in the Items list and its attributes displayed in the column on the right.  
  10. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for the asset you just selected and then define each successive layer of assets, thereby building out the assets within the work zone.

Tip: You can streamline the process by copying assets and creating templates.
