Create an Attribute

Attributes can best be described as characteristics of models and can be used to capture almost any defining quality of a model.

To create attributes, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Our Company > Knowledge Base > Attributes.

The Attribute screen opens, displaying all of the attributes currently in the system.

  1. Click the Add New button.  

The Attribute - Details screen opens.

  1. Enter a name for the attribute.
  2. If you want to capture changes to the data of this attribute for the associated model, click the Yes radio button in the Remember History field. For example, an inspection date attribute would change over time as various inspections are done. These inspection date changes can be tracked and later reviewed if the Remember History field is set to Yes.
  3. Choose a data type—such as Integer, Date, Phone Number, Free-text field, and so on—from the drop-down list.
  4. If you want the attribute to display within work orders, click the Yes radio button in the Display in Work Order field, otherwise, select No.
  5. Select from the following two options:

    If you select this second option, a Choices table appears, allowing you to click an Add Choices button and add each of the choices you want users to select from.

  6. Click OK to finish creating the attribute.
